How to Clean Pee From a Mattress

Cleaning pee out of a mattress is no fun task. If you have kids in the house (or pets) you will most likely have to deal with this at some point. No one sets out saying “today, I get to scrub urine!” But someone has to do it, especially if you have a child suffering from a bedwetting problem. The smell is overwhelming and can smack you in the face when you walk in the room. Or when you lay down at night to read with your child and you have to breathe through your mouth, you know you have some cleaning to do.

To avoid this problem altogether, you’ll want to invest in some great mattress protection which we have reviewed for you here. But sometimes, accidents happen and the wetness gets through. We have personally had to clean pee from our child’s mattress dozens of times and have in turn found this the easiest method.

Prevention is key in not having to do this nightly. We understand that cleaning a mattress in the middle of the night is most likely not going to happen, and we end up throwing a towel down and dealing with it in the morning. This is how stains develop and the unpleasant odors set in. Invest in a great mattress cover, mattress pad, and an alarm for your child today. This will not only protect your mattress but help your child in beating the bedwetting problem. Good luck!
